I recently decided to completely revamp my profiles because I felt that they were getting, how can I say this, boring. Believe it or not, my profile used to start with the following statement: "I prefer to be open, honest, affectionate, and caring." Now even though that statement may be totally true, I decided that it was just too flat. So I decided to have a little bit of fun.

Perhaps you might ask, what do I feel that I am doing with my life? This is a very existential question, if you think about it. It makes me wonder things like ... Should I have a greater plan for it all? Should I have some important personal goal that I want to tell you about? ... Well, I don't! Sadly, I often prefer to spend my time going to the gym, reading, hiking, bicycling, or going to the movies. On the bright side, I like to find opportunities for humor and play each day.

Now here's another one ... what do I spend time thinking about? My employer sent me to a mindfulness workshop last year. It described how random our internal thinking can be. That certainly fits me. I can be quite random. Now, I don't want you to think I am using this example to evade the question. I want you to know that I am taking this profile writing very seriously. I am pretty sure I have thoughts almost every day. I willing to bet I have at least a dozen, yes 12, actual thoughts a day. But right now, at this moment, when I am trying to tell you what I spend a lot of time thinking about, i can't think of them.

Moving on, what am I good at? I love being funny and playful. I can be silly without (hopefully) being immature. I will admit that is sometimes a struggle. I am very good at listening and communication. However, I do try to balance out all that boring niceness with my hobby, which is being general pain in the (you know what). 

Now I am going to admit something. I have read a good number of women's dating profiles. Many were very well written, and I have learned from reading them. I have noticed that many woman endorse items such as travel, or being adventurous, or displaying decent manners on the internet. In all fairness, I felt I should touch on these issues.

Travel? I have a long term relationship with the 405 freeway. Dysfunctional but long term. I am pretty sure that I have over 50,000 miles on that freeway. I think that makes me a pretty experienced traveler.

Adventurous? I am very adventurous when I can work up the nerve. Please do not ask me to elaborate on this, as I am beginning to feel faint.
