I am Modern Orthodox, I keep Kosher, Shomer Shabbat & Shomer Chaggim.
There are multitudes who say I am crazy to think I could meet and marry a much younger bride and raise a family. My response to that is, ‘They are crazy to think I can’t.’ All marriages need is a committed loving monogamous relationship, with adjustments and patience. The rest comes naturally.
My history is full of unfortunate events, and yet, thank HaShem, I have survived it. HaShem protected me from my foolish youth and from adversaries who intended me harm. Looking back and thinking on those events strengthens my Emunah. The emotional and psychological wounds and scars of my past, and discovery of my Jewish ancestors and Judaism has delivered me to a wiser path. I am far from perfect. I am still working on it.
As a six-year veteran of the United States Army twice honorably discharged after 2 – three-year terms of service, currently employed with the City of Houston, Texas as a Senior Plan Analyst, I will retire in the near yet uncertain future. If my marriage is before retirement, the benefits my wife will receive will be much greater than if my marriage is after retirement. I would say we can talk about Katubah after we connect, however I believe I have just described it. Of course, we will have to make an official Katubah for when we are married.
