Hi, my name is Pam. I have a sunny personality, I'm full of laughter and fun. I'm a retired ESOL (English As A Second Language) teacher. My students were recent immigrants. Once, I made a home visit for one of my students who was Arabic. As I was conversing with the family in their living room, I looked up and saw a large picture over their couch and said, "Oh, The Dome Of The Rock". There was an audible gasp, as the family realized that I am Jewish and have been to Israel. By extending warmth and friendship, I made that important first step, to bridge the gap between cultures. The walls of prejudice melted away. Soon, we all became the best of friends, and the women of the family became volunteers in my classroom. I believe that each of us CAN make a difference! *****
Two years ago, I moved in with my parents because they needed my help. I'm sad to say, that their health has become worse, and now, much of my time is spent at Morton Plant hospital and the rehab.
Still, there are times when I can get away. I'd like to meet someone who is retired, with a flexible schedule. Someone to go places with, laugh, share. I'd like to stroll the beach, hand in hand, and share a sunset. Or have a picnic at a park, I can bring the sandwiches and potato salad, do you like homemade brownies? The Strawberry Festival is coming up, and the Chasco Fiesta in New Port Richey. I think, when you enjoy being with someone, everything you do together is very special.
