I don't often take the path of least resistance. Challenges and hardships in life have helped to create the resilient, down-to-earth, empathetic person that I am.

I'm a medical writer working in continuing medical education. Medicine is one of my interests and passions. I'm lucky to have a job I love that interests me and pays well. My life is good. But it would be wonderful to share the many blessings of life with someone compatible.
I am low-maintenance and low-demand. In a relationship I appreciate independence for myself and readily grant it to my mate. Not the clingy, needy type. Not a drama queen, either. Furthermore, there is nothing fake about me. I am an open book and if you ask me something in a direct and sincere manner, you will get a direct and sincere answer.

Being a practical person, I DO NOT believe that long-distance relationships work and am not willing to enter into one. If you live more than an hour's drive, you are too far away! (Or maybe I'm too far away, whatever!)

I think an appreciation for irony is downright indispensible and love a man with a dry wit.
Not a sports lover but don't mind if my mate is. Not a great outdoors adventurer, either, although camping does sound lovely. Just don't ever expect me to jump out of anything that is moving! I can take chances with the heart and with love but not with life and limb!

I am involved with my synagogue and would love to get involved with a man who is involved more than twice a year with his religion.

Anywhere quiet with a sublime, perhaps elegant ambiance. Wine helps to take the edge off a first date, but coffee helps to stimulate discussion! Either one is good. Not too much time should be promised on the first date . . . always leave them wanting more.

Any first date in which I don't surreptitiously look at my watch wondering how much more time I have to spend with this boor is a good one. Any date that leaves me wanting to spend more time with this person is a superb one!!
