Me describiría a mi mismo como
I have confidence in my beliefs, proud of my accomplishments, but I do not rest with what I know or have done. I fill my weekdays creating. I write, read, make music, and teach law. Shabbat, I rest, allowing the joy of a meal with friends, family, the spirit of Shabbat to take over. Rock n’ roll, the Blues, country music (especially the Dead and their various offshoots) have a place in my life (but not on Shabbat). My successes, as well as my mistakes, have prepared me for this moment. I am ready for a relationship imbued with respect for one another, trust, love, intimacy. I am not afraid to be happy or fall in love again. The woman I am with would understand the partnership of love where we support one another in our endeavors, challenge and care for one another, and, no less importantly, feel obligated to make each other laugh.
The qualities I am looking for in a woman are no less than what I have to offer a woman: She respects herself; is not fearful to love and be loved; values intimacy, both physical and emotional, and yet understands that we each need our space at times; has the confidence to challenge me when she disagrees and to be challenged; values humor, embraces happiness; has a degree of independence but at the same time, recognizes the partnership in a loving relationship—that is, we are in this together; likes rock and roll music; values family.
